נשאר בעין הוד: אוסף האמנות של עין הוד

The Ein Hod Archive Art Collection was established through the initiative of the artist Ora Lahav Shaltiel (1936–2017), one of Ein Hod's founding members, who collected works by artists of the village after their passing. Shaltiel sought to create a visual record of the artistic history of the artists' village from a communal perspective, recognizing the importance of preserving its cultural heritage.

For many years, the collection was housed in the Gertrud Kraus House, which served as the village's historic "Founders' House," where the works were displayed chronologically. Over time, however, the building suffered from dampness and inadequate exhibition conditions. In 2018, it was decided to conserve the damaged works and place the collection in storage until a suitable solution could be found. Shaltiel's collecting efforts had ceased about a decade earlier, and the collection remained unchanged—locked away and dormant.

As part of a project to rescue and preserve the collection, the Board of the Ein Hod Artists' Association and the Ein Hod Gallery, under the direction of curator Tsela Kotler Hadari, initiated its relocation to a renovated and secure facility equipped with museum-standard conservation conditions, with the aim of continuing Shaltiel's legacy.

Today, the collection comprises more than one hundred works, including pieces by Marcel Janco, Moshe Mokady, Yohanan Simon, Meir Dahan, Sima Slonim, Ben-Zion Magal, Ella Raiony, Gertrud Kraus, Yehoshua Grossbard, and others. The long-term vision is to expand the collection through an ongoing curatorial process. The exhibition Remaining in Ein Hod presents the collection to the public for the first time, tracing the artistic development of the artists' village through its holdings.

As part of the preservation project, a special fundraising event was organized to finance the conservation and restoration measures required for the collection. The event featured Ein Hod resident Shlomo Artzi, who volunteered his participation in support of the initiative. Behind the Songs with Shlomo Artzi, held at the Ein Hod Amphitheater in July 2024, was met with great success.
