At the heart of Ein Hod are ceramic wall works created in 1966 as part of a groundbreaking International Ceramics Symposium.

The symposium brought together leading ceramic artists from Israel and around the world, who were invited to explore innovative ways of integrating art into architecture and the built environment. The works were first exhibited in 1967 at the Ceramics Pavilion of the Israel Museum, Eretz Israel Museum, and were later installed throughout the public spaces of Ein Hod. Over the years, they weathered, faded, and gradually became absorbed into the landscape.

Marking the 60th anniversary of the symposium, the Art Committee, led by Dr. Tali Gil Schwartzberg, together with the Ein Hod Art Gallery, led by Zeela Kotler Hadari, partnered with the ceramic artists currently working in the village to initiate a unique conservation and restoration project. The project explored the original materials, the history of the initiative, the stories of the participating artists, and the ideas that shaped it. Ein Hod's ceramic artists reconstructed missing elements and breathed new life into the original works.

The project was launched with a mini symposium featuring a guided tour, lectures, the opening of an outdoor exhibition, the publication of the research essay and a digital visitor's guide, as well as a dance performance.
